I’m both a Themer and a 1st Thing namer. Popular themes are famous inventors/philosophers, and colour names in other languages. As for 1st Things… well, my Pidgeys are always named Telephone. I also have some Pokemon that will always get the same thing. Haunter is always Poe, Amerphos is always Amphiee (since I was like 12 years old), and I’ve usually got one Pokemon called Lux and Aberdeen. It’s just how it is. That said, when I first play through a gen I usually leave their names the same. That isn’t happening with BW though, for whatever reason. I am definitely “The First Thing” Theme namer. I have a Band of Brothers team and then the rest are named after artists and art movements. My Milotic is Mannerism and Luciaro is Rothko. Theme namer, for sure. High-res
